A new sensorhas been created called Density, that has been designed to be positioned in thedoorway of a location such as a coffee shop or restaurant. To enable users tothem check using the companion application or website just how busy thelocation is. The Density sensors can be installed into a premises for free andrequire a monthly fee of juts $25 per month to run the system. The creators ofthe Density Sensor system explain a little more :
“Oursensor gets attached to a place’s entrance, measures anonymous movement aspeople come and go, and generates real-time and historical data that can beintegrated anywhere.
Weinstall sensors across your network of locations (ex. a set of smallbusinesses, a college campus, or museum). Real-time movement data is collected, organized, and made available to your developers through the Density API.
Densityuses infrared light to measure movement. By design, Density cannot capture anypersonally identifiable information about consumers.
